Areas of Unrest

30 April 2006 - Short and Quick

I have no time to write, since I need to get on an airplane way too early Sunday morning. Seeing as how it is after midnight, it is already Sunday morning and I hope the first leg of my trip isn't too crowded because I am definitely not going to get enough sleep tonight and could use a good airplane nap. Obviously, nobody pays any attention to my theory that conferences should start on Tuesday mornings, not early on Monday. I console myself with thoughts of comp time, as well as my usual mantra of frequent flyer miles.

My major news of the week is another re-org at work. It doesn't make a huge difference, as I still have the same boss, but it does mean I'm back having the secretary I prefer.

I can also offer a minor bit of food pornography. I hardly ever go out to lunch, since I'm usually rushing around and don't want to take the time. But Kim and Kurt had gone to Queen Bee not long ago and I said I'd come along the next time they went. It's still one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area and the green papaya salad I had suited my mood. Their iced coffee has too much condensed milk though, so I won't get it again. Surprisingly, their service was very efficient - one of the other reasons I tend not to go out to lunch often. We made it to Clarendon, ate, and got back in less than an hour.

Sorry to be so brief, but that's how things go sometimes.
