First, my favorite news headline of the week was from a story about Cheney's blood clot. Kudos to whatever editor came up with "Veep Vein Thrombosis."
Second, I like the early daylight saving time deal, since it makes it easier to get out for a good long walk after work. But I am not convinced it will be a significant energy saving measure. I recall there being one year of early DST when I was in high school. Did anybody look back at the results from the mid-1970's energy crisis in planning this?
Anyway, I am in full spring cleaning mode. I did a used bookstore run yesterday and got rid of 23 books. Of course, I did acquire 13 in exchange, but I'm sure that few of them will be keepers. I am once again reminded that I cannot predict which stuff will be taken and which rejected. I was sure that a paperback collection of Elizabethan songs would end up in the reject stack (which eventually get donated to the Book Thing), but Hole in the Wall took it. Which is why it is always worth a try at the stores.
My two other big household projects of the moment are another attempt at filing away photos and negatives and a cleanout of the jewelry. The latter is a real problem in terms of having no idea of what to do with the stuff I no longer want. Tring to sell it is one option, but a hassle. The truly junky stuff can just get donated to a thrift shop I suppose.
And then there's the box of shame. I need to make a dent in it this week since there are likely to be articles I clipped thinking Robert would find them interesting. And he will be here next weekend. Which is also part of the motivation for more general spring cleaning.
