This was a stressful week at work. My meeting on Tuesday afternoon was so vitriolic, I was glad I was sitting near the door so I'd have a fair chance of escaping if people starting throwing things. Wednesday was more civilized, but I still didn't get out of the office (well, actually, another facility where I was in a meeting) until almost 7 at night. And Thursday was productive but was also a full day in a meeting I had to pay attention to. In between all of this, I had normal chores to take care of, as well as riding herd on my panelists for an upcoming conference working group.
So I was very happy to take the weekend off and go out to West Virginia for a three day Volksmarch weekend, with walks in Charles Town, Martinsburg, and Shepherdstown. I've written up all of that, as well as a brief review of a play I went to on Saturday night, on my livejournal site. The brief version is that three days of walks and relaxation has been very destressing and I'm far more ready to face the coming week than I would have been had I not gone. That's a pretty good argument in favor of exercise.
