There wasn't an entry last week because I was just too tired to write one. Passover brings the annual ritual of spring cleaning, but it brings an odd sort of spring cleaning. The focus is entirely on the kitchen and dining room and the usual array of household paperwork falls by the wayside. The bathrooms could use another round of scrubbing, too.
But that will get done, eventually, although paperwork seems to expand exponentially. (What are those rustling noises I hear in the middle of the night?) What takes real effort is the mental spring cleaning. The warmer weather (and we did have a couple of lovely days, though it is now chilly and rainy again) is a time for shaking loose some of the mental cobwebs. It's almost the opposite of spring fever. I'm adding to the lists of things to do and checking them off madly. Sometimes I put things on the lists after I've done them so I can have the pleasure of checking them off.
It's not where I want to be, however. There's still too much clutter, both physical and mental. I still pick up things and wonder where I got them and why I got them. I pick up ideas and wonder where I got them and why I got them and how to get rid of them.
One of those ideas has to do with this website and what it's for and what I want to do with it. I want to do some consolidation (simplification?) of my various online writing projects. I'm using my live journal site more in the mean time. This domain is paid for for a while, yet, so nothing is going to happen fast.
Damn, those spiders work quickly.
