Areas of Unrest

24 December 2007 - Real Progress

Since the government was shut down today but my company wasn't, it was time for a day at the corporate office. That provided a good opportunity for doing some organizing and decluttering there. The surface of my desk no longer looks like the American Museum of Office Supplies. I shredded a bunch of old notes (e.g. ones from meetings 10 years and 2 jobs ago) and filed a lot of stuff away. I even looked to see what was on some of the diskettes I had. That was complicated since I had to actually find a computer with a floppy drive to use for this task. I'm guessing some of them must be Mac disks that our secretary had when we had a secretary up the street since they were deemed unreadable. (Well, Windows calls them unformatted, but I still think they were Mac disks.)

Now there is just the rest of one box there to go through. And some pictures to hang, because I forgot to bring in picture hooks. I figure I will finish getting everything organized there just about when I get moved to yet another office.

Now, if I could only make this much progress at home.
