The title of this entry refers to what I once read were the three possible ones one could lead one's life. Sometimes, I feel like I'm doing all three within a short time.
Much of my week was rather treadmill-like. I'm absurdly busy at work right now, for one thing, with a particular project eating up a lot more time than it's worth. The early part of this week looks similar, with meetings most of the day both Monday and Tuesday, but some actual work to get done in between those meetings. I'll get through it, but I will also, inevitably, be stressed out in the process.
In the saga department, I'm still working my way through updating my address on various accounts. My annoyance level is high, but there isn't really much point in bothering anybody else with it. The short version is that customer service people always sound friendly and helpful enough on the phone, but then they don't manage to do what you actually called for. I did, at least, straighten out the theatre tickets, as the Signature Theatre folks agreed that a request for a Sunday matinee subscription should actually mean that the tickets should be for Sunday matinees.
As for pilgrimages, I picked up the Madagascar guidebook I'd ordered at Olsson's. I also made arrangements for the first ball game excursion of the upcoming season - to see the Red Sox at Tampa Bay. I tried to arrange a pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Green Monster (i.e. Fenway), but have not yet succeeded in getting tickets for a day I can go. I should have planned earlier, but my calendar is something of a monster itself, as usual.
As for things I actually did this week (aside from working), I went to see the NSO Pops with Pink Martini on Thursday night. I posted a review of sorts already so needn't say more. As for the weekend, it was mostly devoted to decluttering. I got rid of a bunch of stuff via freecycle. Inevitably, one person flaked out and hasn't followed through, but I have other people interested so can possibly salvage this. It is, however, annoying. I made some progress on filing and shredding papers, which I am usually good about but which got abandoned in the shuffle of moving and vacation and the like.
I'm looking forward to more pilgrimage and less treadmill and saga in the coming weeks, but I'm not optimistic about that.
