I haven't been writing here, though I have been blogging up a storm on my livejournal account. I have to admit that part of the appeal is getting comments. People can, of course, email me in response to things here, but they don't. They do comment there, although rarely on the things I expect them to.
So I've been thinking about what, if anything, I want to do with this site. My conclusion is that it's best use would be to make it more focused. Specifically, I intend to use it to focus on goals, both life list items and shorter term goals. Since my 50th birthday is approaching, I had this idea of trying to list 50 things to do to improve my life, each one involving the number 50 somehow. For example, I thought of getting 50 hours of sleep a week, eating 50 servings of fruit a month, trying 50 new recipes over the year, and so on.
The problem with that is that it lets me give into my natural tendency to do so many things at once that nothing ever gets finished. I think, instead, I will work on one self-improvement project a month, with the idea of spending at least 50 minutes a week on that project.
Expect the first entry of the series on September 4th. Unless I am too jet-lagged from my trip (very possible), in which case it may wait until the following Sunday.
