I hadn't really planned to spend my 50th birthday in the Johannesburg airport, but fate (and South African Air) had other intentions. I'm still pretty worn out from the stress of traveling and trying to get caught up on stuff at home, but keeping an eye on goals is ever more important as we get older, so I'm going ahead and attempting to write here.
In terms of life list items, the most achievable one to work on is reading the entire Bible. I've been stalled for a while, so my plan for September is to spend 50 minutes a week on this. At the very least, that should get me to finish Ezekial.
As for other goals, decluttering is always a high priority. The top of that list is getting all the papers in my study nook in places where they belong. So that is another item to devote 50 minutes a week to.
Finally, I've been thinking I need more music in my life. I have tons of records / tapes / CDs I haven't listened to in over a year. So I will listen to at least one of those a week. (Which should approximate spending 50 minutes a week.)
And, with that recorded (and plans to monitor here over the month), I will go back to unpacking and crawling through a month's worth of mail. I have already balanced the checkbook and paid bills and shredded all the credit card offers and thrown out advertising circulars, but there are a lot of event calendars and travel brochures and the like which I actually read before filing or tossing.
